No fuss - clean
Bar food menu was not great. Breakfast was very expensive, although nice - double the dinner price? Booked a twin room for my teenage son and I and was given a double. They did provide us with a sleeper bed so good on them!
A nice setting, Nice decor in the bar and rooms.
Don't bother with lunch if you are in a hurry - it took 20 minutes to make a sandwich. A sandwich which said it had homemade chutney in it which tasted like Branston! Our room could have done with a good dust!
A friendly welcome and helpful as we had to leave our cases because we arrived before checking and were attending a wedding at Stock Brook Manor. When we returned at 11.30pm our keys were ready and again we had a nice welcome. The room was a pleasant surprise and was very clean and comfortable. I attended the wedding with my mother and so as her mobility is sightly reduced, the lift was a real bonus. The breakfast in the morning was excellent and the service was very good. The staff pushed tables together for us as we were with other wedding guests and it was an altogether good stay. The lounge looked very inviting and I will certainly return for afternoon tea just to get the chance to sit in it. We had to leave at 9am because of prior engagement otherwise we would have enjoyed staying on until check out and would have certainly taken up residence with newspapers in the lounge for a couple of hours. Thanks, a good stay.
Beautifu location - great countryside yet close to local facilities; very helpful staff
We stayed at Greenwoods because it was the location chosen by my cousin for her daughter's wedding reception. We did not use the spa facilities. Greenwoods is located in a nice village, but for the fact that a busy main b road runs through the village. We enjoyed visiting the windmill which is open only on the afternoon of the second Sunday of each month during the summer. Its machinery is all still there and there are helpful guides on duty. We also followed a village walk of about 1.5 miles recommended by Greenwoods.
The staff were very friendly and professional. The spa area well planned and very comfortable. The room was very clean, and well looked after during our stay.
Great facilities, we were late checking in and very grateful to hear that the pool was open to 11pm!
We were in Room 12, which was excellent. I also had adult members of my family in other rooms and they were complimentary. I prefer the rooms in the original building to those in the newer wing and would ask for those rooms on returning. The swimming pool and facilities were better than I thought, I had not used them on previous visits.
The room did not have any shower gel or shampoo, which it should do as this is standard in all classes of hotel these days. I wanted three rooms and the hotel website rates were very high. Without going through the booking agency I may never have booked this hotel, and I am glad I did.
The spa was lovely and the hotel itself was very clean and beautiful.
Our room was above the spa and horrifically hot. The windows were bolted shut so it was like being in a sauna. The air conditioner was so noisy and very ineffectual so we got no sleep that night and it took all hopes of romance from our stay. The toilet only flushed every so many flushes too. As we arrived very late at night the night receptionist was a bit clueless about answering questions so we just put up with the problems and complained the next morning. We were given a free breakfast as compensation but I still felt very disappointed to spend £139 for a night that was as uncomfortable as camping in a tent.
Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful
Cleaners not knocking before coming into the room. View from room was of a digger
Great location and surroundings, comfortable room and good amenities. Some staff were helpful and friendly.Very good variety of food/meals on offer and good room service
Lack of information on using phone, Wifi and services in the spa area. Some staff were a bit complacent and didn't answer questions properly or had bad telephone manner. No welcoming atmosphere or leaving thanks! TV located off-centre to bed and or not viewable from bathroom - oversight! Bathroom has poor storage space for toiletries etc. No Air-con (might be a bit warm in summer months) Some staff in the spa area were a bit too indifferent and felt a bit like we were a distraction rather than paying customers. No written instructions on gaining access or using spa facilities. Treatments too short and should be a minimum of 30mins as 20mins is poor value for money. H&S paperwork never discussed or looked at - (poor show) Building works around the site
The room was luxurious. The staff were super helpful and polite. The swimming pool was a good size for swimmers. The breakfast was just right.possibly the best spa experience we've had so far. There was a wedding while we were there but as the hotel had a designated marquee, the hotel didn't seem crowded. Faultless stay, and we will be returning.
Lovely hotel which made for a relaxing overnight stay. Room was a very good size.
Food and drink very expensive and didn't even taste particularly nice.
Spa and room were excellent
Arriving at 11am as on previous visits we were abruptly told we could not have access until 2pm and must leave by 11am next day. In the past we have been welcomed and used spa all day both days. Reception were abrupt and said we could have a coffee in lounge- a 2 hour wait! So, although everything else was great the limitations we have not experienced there or at other spa hotels were very disappointing. When my keycard did not work first time I received no apology though it was corrected. I only report this because I hope Greenwoods will return to its excellent customer service once again.
The rooms was very small to the pictures they took of the room not impressed
The room size
